Bring the magic of Christmas to life with crayons and markers!
Hey there parents and teachers! I remember when my daughter, Lily, was 4 years old and completely obsessed with Santa. Every December, she'd ask for "Santa pictures" to color, and we'd spend chilly afternoons at the kitchen table surrounded by crayons and glitter glue. Those simple coloring pages turned into cherished keepsakes we still pull out each year.
That's why I created these free printable Santa Claus coloring pages – to share that same holiday magic with your family or classroom. Whether you're looking for a quiet activity while cookies bake in the oven, need something festive for a classroom party, or want to create homemade Christmas decorations, these Santa sheets are perfect.
Each design is created with care to be kid-friendly – not too detailed for little hands, but engaging enough for older children too. And the best part? They're completely free to download and print as many times as you want!
Over the years of coloring with kids (and making plenty of messes along the way!), I've picked up some tips that really make Santa pages pop:
Instead of solid red, try using two shades – darker red for shadows (in folds of the suit) and brighter red for highlights. Some kids like to add a touch of pink to Santa's cheeks too!
Leave Santa's beard and fur trim mostly white, but add light blue or gray along edges to show shadows. A silver glitter gel pen makes amazing "sparkly snow" effects on the beard.
For nighttime scenes: use a black paper underneath and lightly color with white crayon to create stars. For daytime: add a yellow sun or some green Christmas trees in the background.
Younger kids do great with thick markers or chunky crayons. For a no-mess option, try coloring digitally on a tablet – our pages work great with coloring apps too!
Last year, my friend Sarah used these Santa pages for her kindergarten class's "North Pole Day." The kids colored them during quiet time, then they cut them out and made a giant Santa parade across the classroom wall. One little boy, Miguel, was so proud of his Santa that he asked to take it home to show his abuela. She told me it's still on their refrigerator!
While these are definitely fun, they also help kids develop important skills without even realizing it:
Once colored, these pages can become so much more:

Teacher Tip: Print a class set on cardstock – it holds up better to enthusiastic coloring and makes a nicer display.
